LeftRightAndCorrect Welcomes Back 2008 Presidential Candidate Mike Gravel (D)

Mike Gravel & Dan in studio 2.JPG Please tune in this and next Friday from noon to 1pm on 106.1 FM for former U.S.Senator Mike Gravel.

Although I plan to bring you many of the 2008 Presidential candidates before November 2008, the very best candidate may well be my friend and fellow freedom fighter, Mike Gravel.  Please visit his web site www.mikegravel.us for more information about his campaign.  Who’s the worst candidate?  Reason Magazine makes a strong case for/against John McCain.

Do you think Senator Gravel should be allowed into the televised debates on NH’s Channel 9 WMUR?  So far he has been excluded!  Send an email to them at this link: http://www.wmur.com/politics/11126344/detail.html

It’s refreshing to see a major party candidate who is as fervently anti-war as Mr. Gravel appears to be, his nationalized health care plans would be an immediate dealbreaker for me. I’m also very skeptical about the merits of the Fair Tax as well as his National Initiative.

Senator Gravel is refreshing indeed! The current web site does say he promotes a nationalized health care plan, but it is far from the doomed to fail socialized medicine plans of the other Democrats.  During our interview, Gravel agreed that a health care voucher plan would be far superior to any socialized medicine plan or our present government corrupted system. Here is one plan that that should be considered that has been proposed by BU professor Lawrence Kotlikoff,

I’m a big fan of The FairTax to replace the destructive and corrupt federal income tax, and the more I look into the national initiative, the more I like it. As much as the thought of majority rule scares me, it’s not nearly as bad as our present system of congressional majority rule.  The public is more easily persuaded by reason and morality than our congressional representatives, and will change their minds when presented with the facts (ex. Iraq) more easily than a politician who is beholden to special interests or saving face from previous incorrect votes.

At http://TheCorrectAnswer.com web site, there is also a recording of my interview of Mike Lynch as well as a short audio that I recorded at Brad Delp and Boston’s last live show at Symphony Hall with Doug Flutie playing drums.

Enjoy at your leisure, and please let me know what you think of the interviews!

Because Senator Gravel realizes TheCorrectAnswer.com to very complex public policy questions, and is not afraid to share that knowledge, even when unpopular.
